Emacs 18.40 is now available in the usual places.
The final (non-beta-test) version 18 release will happen Saturday.
I have made this penultimate version to give you a chance to install
it now and catch any last minute errors.  I hope that many of you
will do so.

Differences from 18.39 are a 100k, mostly VMS-only and Sun Windows bug
fixes.  In addition, it should now work properly on Encore computers
once again.
