Yes. At least, I've rebuilt the kernel from all sources about 4 times now on my Toshiba T1100+, mostly to get my 720k disk driver hacks to work. I had no trouble at all. Read in the manual appendix where it talks about rebuilding from sources, and xref to the makefiles on disk... There were a couple of minor differences on my disks, but nothing even a novice kernel hacker couldn't figure out... I don't even remember what they were.
