Summary: how do you use DrawEliple and clipping to make arcs?

Could someone tell me if the new version 1.2 elipse and circle routines
can be used to create arcs?  I think that these routines, and 
some kind of clipping with the layers library, would do the trick. 
I just don't know how.  Any help would be appreciated.  Please include
code examples if you have them.
