   You may have to drop both CTS and DSR to hold off the Amiga.  In addition,
you may want to try a smaller serial buffer (settable in Prefs), although
it does appear that both the write-data-to-buffer and write-from-buffer-to-
serial-port portions of the serial.device do the line check if RTS/CTS
handshaking is enabled.

   Also, make sure you are using Release 1.2 WorkBench (33.47).  The 1.1
serial.device did not do hardware handshaking.
