I have recently had the frustrating experiance of participating in State Multiple Choice exams. I have found here, that practice exams are the only way to study. Even when one is completely familiar with the material, low grades result when no sample exams have been reviewed. It seems as though the contractor for the writing of these tests is more interested in word for word, page long quotes from the 2,000 page books and deletes 1 (ONE) word [most times a "not"] from the text. The question is then asked [ a one liner ] with 4 close answers. Conflicts within the textbooks are also a prime area for questions. The relationship to the SAT point is not one of increasing the aptitude of the examined party, but one of teaching a testing style. Example: ^ / \ / \ / \ / Paris \ / in the \ / the spring\ -------------- (sorry for the graphics)
