Engst) Distribution: world Organization: Theory Center, Cornell University, Ithaca NY Lines: 24 Keywords: mouse, trakball, in-between Summary: I found more options In my searches for newer and bluer mouses (not Big Blue, though), I've come across some interesting stuff. 1) There are now 2 (count 'em, two) trakballs masquerading as mouses for the Mac, one by Kensington and one by Assimilation. They both seem to be decent replacements for the mouse, although I haven't used either for very long. The Kensington one (TURBO MOUSE) was $109 at the Cornell Campus Store (not usually cheap, so the real price is probably lower) and the Assimilation one (MAC TURBO SOMETHING) was $89. 2) I just read an article on the amiga newsgroup about someone having Amiga mouse-compatible trakballs for a mere $19.95. I can get the address easily if anyone (beside me) is interested. 3) There are a number of optical mouses for the clones, usually around $100, from what I can tell. Could these be changed to work on an ST? 4) A new Atari Mouse is something like $40 - $50, I believe, so an alternate control form is not a problem economically. Has anyone heard anything about any of these options for the ST? And as a final and repetitive note, would someone please post a list of runs/doesn't run files for the Sac? I'll summarize anything anyone wants to e-mail me peronally and post to the net. Thanks . . . Adam engst@batcomputer.tn.cornell.edu
