You have to FORMAT and PARTITION your disk with HDX version 8 to get the benefits. The bug was in the partitioning; specifically, nonstandard partition sizes. If you partitioned your disk with pre-version 8 HDX, ask yourself this question: did I use one of the menu selections, or did I choose the sizes with the up & down arrows? If you used a menu selection, you are okay. If you used the up & down arrows, you should back up your hard disk, reformat it, and repartition it with HDX version 8. If you can't remember, you have to decide whether to take the risk. The problem will occur when a partition is nearly full: the symptom is that the next partition's files all get lost, and the root directory is shot. /----------------------------------------------\ | Opinions expressed above do not necessarily | -- Allan Pratt, Atari Corp. | reflect those of Atari Corp. or anyone else. | ...lll-lcc!atari!apratt \----------------------------------------------/
