I know it can be done, since I have an example program which displays
this information, as well as 10,000,000 other things.  If forced I'll
trace through the thing, but maybe somebody out there knows the answer.

How can I get the FILES=xx and BUFFERS=xx info from a program?  I need
to be able to generate warnings if these values are too low...
