I believe it's still $34.95 . It claims to be an 'NROFF' compatible formatter (assuming use of the memorandum macros 'mm'). This is *somewhat* debatable.. there are a few minro tweaks that need to be made on a document prepared using TEXT if it is later to be printed using Nroff, but for the most part, I ship reports & papers back and forth between Unix and OS9 and am able to produce smartly formatted output from the same basic file. There are a variety of editors available in the public domain for OS9. If your choice was a line editor, I'd recommend QED. It's available in the UG library (either in the OS9 Forum on CompuServe or directly available from the UG). If you choice is full screen, the MicroEmacs has been ported to OS9. I have a copy running under level II on my Gimix, and it looks as if it'd be a trivial modification to make it run under the Coco3's version of OS9. Be advised that it doesn't utilize some of the flashier features of Uemacs - yet. Lastly, regarding a spelling checker. This TOO is available in the public domain. There was one written by Eric Williams years ago, alonf with tools to add words, decrypt the dictionary, etc. Carl Kreider (one of our OS9 gurus) has speed it up, and provided for additional dictionaries for both common words and user specific words, in addition to the gobal dictionary. Hope this has been helpful. -- Pete Lyall Usenet: {trwrb, scgvaxd, ihnp4, voder, vortex}!wlbr!pete !wlbreng1!pete !wlpx!pwl Compuserve: 76703,4230 (OS9 SIG Sysop) OS9 (home): (805)-985-0632 (24hr./1200 baud) Phone: (818)-706-5693 (work 9-5 PST) ----------------------------------------------------------------------
