The extremely annoying whine my Mac+ has recently begun making when it warms up seems be telling me that the flyback transformer is gonna blow if I don't cool it. So, as much as I hate fans (I'm a soulmate of Jobs on this issue), I figure it's better to pay for a fan rather than pay to replace the transformer, or worse, the whole power supply board. My main concern in getting a fan is noise; I'd like the quietest, least obnoxious one available. From my understanding of the piezoelectric fans available, they aren't up to the task of really cooling a Mac down, so I guess I'm resigned to finding one that's more effective and less quiet. So, any suggestions? What fans should I consider? Or should I reconsider the piezos? Or might the whine be something other than the flyback? This is certainly an old issue, so please don't post responses; mail them, and I'll summarize any exciting thoughts. Thanks. Grobbins ln63szb@sdcc13.ucsd.edu ...sdcsvax!sdcc13!ln63szb
