Summary: What is your opinion of this software

My father is looking for a good scientific editor for his Tandy 1000.
He is presently thinking about buying Lifetree Software's "Volkswriter
Scientific".  He would like to know about the quality of the company
and/or product.  Has anyone had any good/bad experiences with this
