I want to retain as much as possible of the formatting information (like section numbering) and presentation information (like bold or underline) as I can. But I'm usually satisfied with 80-90%, as I can use emacs flexibly to clean up the odd cases. Text-processors differ in so many small ways that 100% will be impossible anyway. Our needs are for mostly some particular one-way conversions, but it would be nice to see some more general solution - perhaps with a common basis like SGML. We are already using rough VMS RUNOFF and IBM GML to nroff conversions and are now particularly interested in WordStar and WordPerfect. Anything for format conversion will be interesting. Please reply by mail and I will summarize what I learn to the net. ____________ Graham Tritt SOWI, Department 34b1 | ________|__ Hasler AG, Belpstr. 23, CH-3000 Berne 14, Switzerland | | _ | | | _| |_ | Telephone: +41 31 632661 | | |_ + _| | X.400: graham@hslrswi.hasler |__| |_| | Bitnet: graham%hslrswi.UUCP@cernvax.BITNET |_________| Uucp: ... {seismo, ukc, ... }!mcvax!cernvax!hslrswi!graham ***************************************************************************
