Has anyone published a handbook for normal people trying to
use 'worldnet' = UUCP+ARPA+JANET+BITNET+VNET+...

I'm thinking of the kind of book that explains that spaces *are*
significant (sometimes) in names or where the name servers are, or
how to find out what mailing lists are active on a given net,...

All in non-tech/low-tech language!

Preferably including a glossary (like 'flame', ':-)',...).
