I have just received the `Towers of Hanoi' program which has been posted to comp.sources... The program runs on a VT100 without problems but on a Sun it produces strange results. Apparently, the Sun window driver (or the tty emulator) buffers characters to be output until there is a certain number of them, flushes them, and then starts operating as one would expect. What I got actually was an empty screen (after calling initscr), the program did something (it started displaying characters which didn't reach my window), and then after a while I got the expected pictures. The time between initializing Curses and getting REAL output can be reduced by just moving the window (but sending SIGWINCH doesn't work). Has anybody out there in net.land made similar experiences with other programs using Curses on the Sun? It's not that I am particularly fond of Curses - I am just curious what kind of bug this is (or maybe it's a feature, but I didn't find it documented :-).
