For what it's worth-

I was trying to get the fourth generation make command from the ATT
toolchest running on our UNIX (1100) system, but the build procedure
reported many errors compiling cpp.c. As I investigated the problems, I was
perplexed to find what seemed incorrect behavior from the preprocessor
and had in fact found a bug, which our compiler guru already knew about.
Things went smoothly from there. But I can't let it rest. I keep saying to
myself, over and over again, "I was trying to make make but the preprocessor
broke on the preprocessor."

A true story!
( The net was the only place for it. I tried to explain to my wife,
but she just didn't get it. )
