  here's my loud scream for allowing uwm functions to be bound to
  function keys.  i bound sunwindow functions like open, close,
  expose, hide, etc. to function keys via the .ttyswrc file, and found
  that i used them a LOT!

  also based on the sunwindow scheme, you could have the function keys
  send predefined key sequences to the current window.
  
  other uses for the function keys are only limited by the
  imagination.  use 'em.
