We have been using an Apple Laserwriter, connected to Macs and a Vax (Unix) for just over a year. While the specs are that it should run about 3000 copies per month, we have been running 8-9000 per month and have had only one repair necessary in that time. The toner cartridges are spec'd at 3000 copies per cartridge (they seem to like that number), and indeed, the indicator shows red at about 3000- 3500 copies. We remove the cartridge, give it a good shake and put it back in. We are getting 5-5500 copies per cartridge without noticable print quality degradation.
