I belive that at one time, MOUNT used to send requests to CENTRAL as well as TAPES, but I just tried it under VMS 4.5 and that turns out not to be the case (maybe my memory has finally gone). In any event, I normally run with NO operator terminals enabled (I'm not in a cluster environment). The users don't actually get a error message, but rather the following two informational messages: %MOUNT-I-OPRQST, Please mount volume ______ in device _____ . %MOUNT-I-NOOPR, no operator available to service request. after which MOUNT waits for the user to mount the proper tape.
