Mail stores information such as your personal name, forwarding address,
number of new mail messages, mail directory, etc. in a common file
for all users.  This file is VMSMAIL.DAT found in SYS$SYSTEM: (the
common area for VAXClusters).  The file can be placed elsewhere and
the logical name VMSMAIL (I think that's right) defined to point to it.
