Logs of a session, >no matter how detailed (/CCITT), fail to show the 'faults'. We observed a similar problem, when talking via PSI to machines which send 8 bit ASCII characters The PAD sees all characters as 8bit characters and does not accept parity. The extra CR/LF sequences are added by PAD because the PAD WRAP parameter is set to 126 causing an extra CR/LF sequence to be added every 126 characters. To avoid this switch PAD WRAP parameter off by setting it to 0. DEC considders additions to PAD for a future release of PSI which will allow the top bit of 8 bit characters to be stripped and thus be correctly interpeted by PAD Peter Kobe Physikalisches Institut der Universitaet Bonn EARN: SYSTEM @ DBNPIB5
