A TPU frontend that looks like WPS-PLUS was submitted to the VAX
SIG tape [vax86c.tpuwps...] for Fall '86. Also I use SEDT, which
does not mess up my VT240 colors and has a WPS frontend available.
It was on one of the recent VAX SIG tapes too. No need to start from
scratch. Give me a call if you can't get the tapes via normal
channels; they've been available a month or two now.
