When I try to call 718-452-xxxx using AT&T, I get the following message: "Due to a fire in a New York Telephone facility, your call did not go through. Please try your call again later. 718-2T" (Repeated twice, then followed by:) "(3 increasing tones) We're sorry. Your call did not go through. Will you please try your call again? 617-2T" (Repeated twice) When I use any alternate carrier, I get the following message: "We're sorry. Due to a fire in New York Telephone Company facilities, your call cannot be completed at this time. 132A2" (Repeated twice) Since this condition has existed for a few days (not hours) now, I would tend to think something really big has happened. Also, does anyone know the meaning of the codes at the end of the recordings? The 718 and 617 in the above are the called and calling NPAs, and I would guess that 2T might mean Class 2 Toll, but that's only a guess. I have no idea what 132A2 means, but it might designate the ALDS point-of-presence (POP) in NPA 718. -Ross
