My system is basically V7 (Unisoft + Pixel) with the DBM library. No flock(). SPOOLNEWS on. Here are a couple problems I've noticed that didn't seem to be there before. In SPOOLDIR there is a collection of .in$$ and .ar$$ files that haven't gone away. Upon inspection, they all appear to be locally originated articles, or articles within one hop. Also in SPOOLDIR is a new file .rnews.lock.tmp. This is a 15 character filename, which I shortened to .rnews.lock.tp. It also isn't going away. I thought it might be a failed unlink() on the long name, but changing the name didn't help. I have had the rnews hang while unbatching on about three occasions, but I haven't been able to figure out the circumstances for the sticking. So I'll toss that into the pot and see what bubbles up. -- Mojo mojo@micropro.UUCP ...
