Assuming that everyone with access to the net is a computer user, the problems
of precision demonstrated in communication over the net are a bit frightening.

If Waterloo-generated traffic designated inter-campus is restricted to a WAT
only distribution, nobody would ever see it.  Hmmm, perhaps this really was
what the U of T wanted?  However, the real problem is the INTRA-campus traffic.

For those without the benefit of a classical education, inter- as a prefix
means between, while intra- as a prefix means within.  Thus inter-campus
implies between campuses, while intra-campus hopefully means it never escapes
the barbed-wire and machine-gun nests of the perimeter.

When the time comes to leave the academic ne(s)t, I submit that those of us who
may one day be your future employers, at least in the computer world, will
expect (demand) precision in everything.  Always bearing in mind that favourite
motto of the older generation, "do as I say, and not as I do!"
