I need something that is fast enough to be transparent to the user in an interactive system. I don't know anything about the topic, and would appreciate suggestions of good, comprehensive textbooks containing algorithms. A few weeks ago a version of ARC was posted to either net.sources or mod.sources (source code for UNIX* , I believe). If anyone saved this posting, I would appreciate a copy.
