I think comments by two speakers would interest recent discussions on both Arms-d and AIlist. In particular, Dr. Ed. Feigenbaum made mention in his words that the SDIO has dropped funding of AI from its budget. His implication appeared to be more software engineering oriented rather than battle management oriented.
