And now for an example.  The otherwise elegant B5500 [oh, what a fun
machine that was]  could read cards in binary or Hollerith, but the
punch couldn't punch binary cards.  Rarely a problem, but if you wanted
to punch a bootable card for some reason you had to do it by hand.
