Thanks in advance. ANSI/IEEE Std 802.3-1985, ISO/DIS 8802/3 does not have a type field in the MAC header. Referencing section 3.2 in that handy-dandy book published by the IEEE and distributed by John Wiley & Sons. Of course, you may be referring to the Ethernet type field.
