Hey! Whoaaa!  I have been using GNUemacs on an RT for perhaps eons now.
(actually, ever since 18.40), with no problems whatsoever.  It compiled
vanilla-style - I just edited config.h and paths.h, and make-ed.
I am using version 18.41 rght now, and I have it running under X, and
there were no mods needed to get it working.  If you have internet access,
you can get this from mit-prep, louie.udel.edu, or osu-eddie, I think.
