I would like to set up a color table on a Sun3 for use in a graphics package. What I would like would be a smooth cyclic transition across the edges of the RGB color cube (start and end with, say, red). I am now using a linear transformation, i.e., hold red at 1, blue at 0, and increase green linearly from 0 to one to ramp from red to yellow, etc. This is rather unsatisfactory because, of course, the colors are not linear. I know what I have to do: implement a gamma function for the ramps, but I was hoping someone out in netland might have something already implemented they might be willing to send me. I would greatly appreciate it. Please use mail! I have just been told that our news software will trash all news received over a certain period (of a few hours) every day! Thanks, Peter
