This is my problem : I am porting some Pascal (AOS/VS pascal - from some Data General Machine) code to our Sun 3/50 environment. The Pascal code uses 'random acces' file types. Berkeley (Sun) compiler does not support this. I was thinking of the following solutions : ----------------------------------------- - Rewrite the file handling parts in C. Problems : . file parameter passing between C and Pascal functions . the C and Pascal file structure is very different. - Loading the complete file into memory. Problems : . de file has a size of about 16 megabyte. (Slowwwww) Anyone out there who can suggest other solution, or has comments on my ideas ??
