First of all I would like to apologize to all who receive this message on both lists. We have just received our Sun LaserWriter (only an Apple with Transcript included) with PostScript 38.0 rev 2 and Sun Transcript 2.0. I have been following laser-lovers and info-postscript for some while but I haven't found an answer therein. I am still somewhat naive so excuse me. Being in Europe we use A4 paper trays. Our LaserWriter on power-on generates a perfectly centered startpage. Our problem seems to be the Transcript software. When using enscript or ptroff the pages come out but NOT centered as the startpage (in either x or y). Why I'm suspicious is the curious 1.25 inch top margin and wide right margin. Example: printing a man page with ptroff: left margin 9/16 inch = 0.5625 right margin 1 1/8 in. = 1.125 top margin 1 1/2 in. = 1.5 bottom margin 11/16 in. = 0.6875 I have the feeling that the Transcript software assumes letter size (8.5 x 11 in.) by default. Our pagetype = 0. The enscript.pro prolog is version 2.1 dated 85/11/24 -- shore. Where does Transcript learn about the pagetype(size)? We only have a binary distribution of Transcript. Does anybody have any suggestions as how to solve this problem? Anything would be appreciated. Thanks! Ralph P.
