Well, something else instead. *WE* convert user@domain to the UUCP format of domain_or_system!user so that SYSV mailx can reply to it. IF smail is installed on a site, it will figure things out when sending mail to this sort of reply (isn't that what it was made for!?) IF smail isn't installed, then the local mailer will figure it out as well. NO conflict of interest, NO reported problems.
