MN Lines: 27 Keywords: help, smail, sendmail,TCP I can't get sendmail/smail configured correctly. We have a bunch of MicroVAXen running Ultrix 1.2, which is essentially BSD4.2, and a local area network. Only one host dials out. I would like to set up smail on all the machines so that: 1) internal mail is sent via SMTP directly to the local host. 2) all other mail goes via SMTP to the dial-out host (gateway?). This host only has enough disk space to know about routes to a few hosts, but one of these is a smarthost. I set up /bin/lmail to be the original /bin/mail, which I think is the Berkley mailer (though distinct from /usr/ucb/Mail). /bin/mail was replaced by a link to /bin/smail. Is this right? Can someone send me a /usr/lib/sendmail.cf file and a /usr/lib/uucp/paths file that will work? I would like it to work without registering a domain. If this works then we will register.
