Lines: 33 Keywords: 6300 Minix WD1002S-WX2 Tulin Well, I finally got Minix talking to my hard disk (but boy, is it ever flakey). Here is the hardware were talking about: AT&T PC6300, 640K WD1002S-WX2, Tulin TL240 I think its talking now because I did a low level format with interleave = 5, which is worst case for this combination. I had it previously set to 6. I also have been playing around with using the internal BIOS VS controller rom. Currently, I have the 6300's dip switch 1, switch 3 set to internal and the controller's rom enabled (W3 closed). This had caused a conflict earlier when I accidently set them this way but isnt a problem now (dont ask me why, it must be FM!). My partition table currently looks like this: Partition Status Type Start End Size 1 A DOS 0 250 251 2 N non-dos 251 600 350 Hard disk I/O (mkfs, cp, etc.) fail intermittantly. I *THINK* the problem is still related to the interleave because errors occour in a random order although the blocks are always the same. ----------------------------------------------------------------- John "C".
