I've only seen discussion of vanilla tar and dump/restore (for 4bsd) and cpio, volcopy, and labelit (Sys V) on net news. And there's multivol and cousins from mod.sources. Of commercial offerings, I've only heard of Ubackup (Unitech, Inc) and Reel Utilities (COSI), but have no idea how good/bad either is. Both advertise in "Unix Review" and such.
