I have tried to get setfont and pipe.device to work; neither one does.  They
crash the amiga.  This is odd because at this point people's machines are all
pretty much the same as each other.

I am sending this only within Toronto distribution; what I would like is for
some kind soul to allow me to copy a workbench disk which they use after
booting with 1.2 kickstart on which they are able to run setfont and/or
pipe.device.  Then I will gradually change it to look like my workbench disk,
then I will find out what I am doing wrong.
