Amd is claiming _very_ good numbers for this chip; 12 MIPs comes to mind. I don't remember if that's burst or average rates. In either case, the chip is screaming. There's lots of stuff in comp.arch on the am29000. Wade through the older articles for it. If you're really interested, you can probably get a manual through your local AMD rep.
