Bob is correct. As per page 25 of the 1.2 Enhancer manual: Format: ADDBUFFERS df: Purpose: to reduce disk access time by adding sector cache buffers Specification: Adds buffers to the list of sector caches for drive . Adding additional buffers can significantly reduce disk access time. The tradeoff is that the command uses up memory; each buffer added reduces memory by approximately 500 bytes. The improvement in disk access time is less pronounced when you add more than 25-30 extra buffers. I couldn't have said it better m'self... -- Eric Cotton Commodore-Amiga "I don't find this stuff amusing anymore." /*========================================================================*/ /*==== UUCP: {ihnp4|allegra|seismo|pyramid!amiga}!cbmvax!eric ====*/ /*==== ARPA: cbmvax!eric@seismo ====*/ /*==== US mail: Commodore Technology / 1200 Wilson Drive ====*/ /*==== West Chester, PA 19380 ====*/ /*==== phone: (215) 431-9180 ====*/ /*========================================================================*/
