SOFTERM also provides for some minor editing (stripping surplus line-feed characters, setting or clearing the high bit, and such) while it copies. Changing filetype also is permited (with LOTS of limitations on ProDOS -- SOFTERM's ProDOS features are quite crude and barely adequate). Even though it operates under DOS 3.3, SOFTERM will up/download directly to/from PAScal, CP/M, and ProDOS (floppies only) formats (CP/M card not needed). On the whole, SOFTERM is the most capable Apple II Comm program (who else does IBM-3101 in block mode?), but it's VERY expensive ($195 list; I've seen it mail order for $135).
