I just installed an NEC V30 on my Deskpro.  Here are some subjective feelings.
Running Norton SI:
  Before V30:
    Slow Mode:  1.0 (relative to IBM PC-XT)
    Fast Mode:  1.7
  With V30:
    Slow Mode:  1.9
    Fast Mode:  3.4

Lotus 1-2-3 runs much faster than before.  Under Xenix response appears to be
faster.  For example when I booted up before an ran a ps (in multi-user mode)
the process time was shown as 0:10, after installation of the V30 it went down
to 0:06.  With two virtual terminals going, one running kermit (doing this now)
and the other doing a ps -ef (the console) the ps -ef time is shown as 0:08.
Response seems better.  Anybody else running a V30 in there Deskpro feel free
to e-mail me your thoughts (and any problems you may have encountered down the
road).  Everything under Dos works fine (tape, etc.).
