Will lubricating the stepping motor lead screw and/or the shaft and bushing that the head slides back and forth on help? If so, what sort of lubricant is best? Or should I just grit my teeth and live with the noise (the drives sound like an old Apple ][ - scrape, clatter, scrape ...) -.
