Has anyone ported the 4.2 BSD or 4.3 BSD version of rdump to a masscomp
MC-5500 running RTU 3.1A.  We have a half dozen systems that are 
masscomps and I would like to be able to a rdump to our VAX or anywhere.

Any leads would be greatly appreciated......

[Mod: I have not tried this one myself, although I have gotten
the other remote tape utilities to work (e.g. rtar, rdd, rmt). You might
try this:

/etc/dump 0ouf - | rsh remotehost "dd of=/dev/rmt0"

And see this that does if right. Let me know how it works out. If it
does work, I could use that appoach myself. h su#!on
