I thought I saw something called RDP fly by about a year ago but I can't find it on seismo (if it's there, let me know please). It was (I think) a layer on top of udp that added reliability to the protocol. Can someone tell me if they have it? Also - the reason that this is important is that someone here is working on a new (yet another) programming language to support distributed applications. They want to have about 40-50 open connections at a time, but getdtablesize says not to count on more than 20 entries per process. Our version of BSD (Wisc 4.3+NFS) has this size bumped to 64. Is this the accepted default out there or is 20 really it? Thanks... -- Larry McVoy mcvoy@rsch.wisc.edu or uwvax!mcvoy "It's a joke, son! I say, I say, a Joke!!" --Foghorn Leghorn
