I have been trying to set up a Hayes 2400 baud internal modem on a Sperry IT (an AT clone) running SCO 2.1.3 with little success. I have taken out all the other serial cards out of this machine. The modem is set up to work on COM2 and I have edited /etc/ttys to say: 12tty11, (running this modem at 1200 baud). I have tested them modem under DOS and it works fine and answers the phone and gives carrier. Unfortunately, under SCO, the phone is answered but no carrier. I am not familiar with XENIX that much, but when I do the ps -ef after having modifed /etc/ttys, all that is running is tty11, not getty. (inittab is a lot easier to deal with). Please give me some help. I am desparate. Please reply via e-mail. Reza Zarafshar, ihnp4!ihlpl!reza0 (312)979-5104
