No, I've never installed a floppy drive on a diskless DN3000, but if you have a
winchester disk, you can connect up an AT floppy drive in addition to the
cartridge tape without any problems.  I've been running two nodes this way for
several months with no ill effects.  The floppy drives live in a separate box
with a small power supply, and I have a long ribbon cable going in through the
back of the 3000.
