We have most everything under control, except plans for our line printer. We currently have a Dataproducts B1000 attached to a Datasystems DLP-1132. On the 8530 there is currently scheduled to be a DMB-32, and it is our intention to run the line printer off the printer port. My questions: a) What kind of a connector is on the DMB-32? Is it a female DB-37 like on the DMF-32? Is it a pair of them (the DMF-32 manual shows connectors J13 and J14 as both used for the line printer interface--I think)? I would hope that the DMB-32 and DMF-32 have compatible interfaces. I think that DEC recommends the same cables (BC27-A) to get from either of these to an LPxx. b) Has anyone out there connected a B1000 to a DMB/DMF? Do you know what the pinouts are? c) Is there any real good reason why we shouldn't just buy a DMF-32 instead, and hook it off our unibus? The main reason we are considering a DMF-32 is that we need an RSCS (JNET) link to a 2400 baud line. We just saw a quote from DEC for the software license and maintenance on the DMB-32 sync driver, and boy is it pricey. =========== Les LaCroix SPSS Inc., 402 Washington, Northfield MN USA 55057-2027 llacroix@carleton.edu (csnet)
