Sorry to have to write to this mailing list, but I wasn't able to find a mailing list dedicated to the PDP (strange), so maybe some of you out there can help me with a little problem. We have a PDP-11 running RSX-11M Plus. This is networked with a bunch of . uVAXs (running ULTRIX or VMS). The problem is that we have some tapes in UNIX 'tar' format, but the tape drive is only hooked to the PDP. I need some utility that will copy the Unix 'tar' tape exactly as it is to the PDP, and then I'll send it over to the network to one of the uVAXs to be converted over there. Anyone have such a utility? If no one does, then I plan to write one myself (the only language we have on the PDP is Macro-11), but I thought I'd check first someone already had such a beast. Please email to me directly since I do not subscribe to this list. Thank you for your time. -- Samir Kaleem __________________ _______/ \_______ / XSAK@ECNCDC.BITNET \ ____________/ XSAK%ECNCDC.BITNET@WISCVM.WISC.EDU \___________ / \ / "My employer doesn't like disclaimers, so I don't have any" \ / "Huda Hafiz" \ --------------------------- -------------------------- \____________/
