We used 3 Hewlett Packard Thin LAN Hubs with success as DEMPR replacements when DEC was quoting 4 month to unspecified lead times. The HP product only has 4 ports, but the ports aren't internally terminated allowing you to connect 2 segments to each port, although of reduced length. The HP product is the same as the DEC in price but includes a transceiver. If you have already got a transceiver you can delete the transceiver as an option and save $500 on the price. The HP product has nice mounting brackets to affix it to the wall in your cable closet. DEMPR is probably a DEC trademark. -------
