After taking with the vendors involved I get the notion that Sun is doing some closed door intense discussion to decide what to do with TOPS. I believe they are hoping it will be the ticket to bring the Mac into the NFS world, since functionally TOPS and NFS are similar. Probably they are making some hard choices about what of each standard they can preserve in the Mac environment. But this is all speculation... What actually do I know? 1) Centram is refering TOPS -unix customers back to their unix vendors. 2) Sun has not made TOPS available for SUN OS. 3) No one can say anything about Mac NFS. I hope they will make an announcement soon. -j
